THE WALKING DEAD: dumb as shit

woke up at 5 am this morning, smoked a bowl, and watched episode one of The Walking Dead before passing out.  I realized that show is fuckin dumb as shit.  Especially when anybody starts shooting.  The zombies can barely even move – you could literally take a brisk speedwalk and laugh at all of them as you pass.  It befuddles me, then, how quickly everyone in the show seems to get themselves trapped in hordes unnecessarily.

Zombies don’t make sense if you spend any time thinking about it.  But The Walking Dead especially is hard to put together.



A couple of things about the zombies in this show:  They can open doors (or at least turn a door knob all the way around several times?)  They only eat live mammals (a horse is eaten alive in ep 01.)  They may have some memory or recognition of place (a certain zombie keeps returning to the house where she used to live when she was alive.)  They can walk but very very very slow and clumsily.



They appear to have perfect hearing, sight, and smell, as evidenced by the scenes where they hear gun shots or see the light from within a house. The zombies appear to have functioning brains as the only way to kill a zombie is one through the dome.   But how long can a zombie go without food?  Why not eat another zombie, they have brains.  Is their blood oxygenated?  From the sounds the zombies make i would hypothesize that they are still breathing air. Is zombie flesh rotten?  Do their gastrointestinal systems succumb to infection if bad meat is ingested?   Because the zombies eat, I guess they still digest food.  But do they ever defecate or piss?  The zombies are still circulating blood as you can clearly see whenever one is shot or axed.  But do they require oxygenated blood to move their muscles?  Or are they anaerobes, like bacteria, with cells that function and multiply without oxygen?

as i was watching this scene i just thought why start shooting now?  Why did the cop and the black guy split up and what strategic plus is there to just start shooting?  What was the plan for when the crowd of zombies showed up?  And how is his wife-zombie still alive?  Shooting her would have been the first thing on my list if i was him.  Fuck letting my son see her come back to house like that.  Just kill the bitch she ain't your wife anymore.
